The Ultimate 3DS Buyers Guide: 3DS Midnight Launch (UK)

Simply waiting until the shops open in the morning on the day of release is just too long for some. The idea of being the first to have a 3DS will appeal to gamers nationwide. Midnight opening held at shopping centres in the past hasn't always gone to plan. Some tech and regions fair better than others, varying from a few lonely souls, to a huge long queue of shoppers with sleeping bags who've been camped there overnight. You might think queuing for a midnight launch is silly, spare a thought to die hard Apple fans who queued for 5 days for an iPhone.

Beware of pompous Store Managers. Those are the jobsworths who have the right to change policies, and often will just to annoy. They might decide to: split shoppers in lines. No trade-in deals during midnight launch, or hold you back after the cash only buyers, or perhaps tell you it's going to be an exclusive midnight launch price - in other words more expensive.

Speaking with HMV today, Nintendo 3DS is almost reaching cut-off-point for pre-orders. Therefore, another batch of stock must be ready for their midnight opening. It would be a riot hearing "Only 10 in stock, form an orderly queue!"
